I don’t think much about the past anymore, but the future has been on my mind a lot lately so I decided to start a blog to see what kind of ideas are out there about re-creating a sustainable planet to hand down to our children. Being indigenous, responsible, wise stewardship of this earth is not just a political passion, a spiritual revelation or a personal desire to have something wonderful to hand down to my grandchildren’s grandchildren. It’s a whirlwind of all those things, interconnected together in a way that can’t be separated.
I live in a world that moves to fast, spends to much. I’m bombarded by media that teaches me to judge others by their appearance and by how easily they conform to this empty acquisitive society I inhabit. It’s hard to remember who I am and where I come from when I live with people who are always in a hurry to get somewhere; always hurrying to get something done; and always telling me to hurry and get to the point.
The physical, spiritual and intellectual path that I want to take in life is not a hurried one. I want every moment of my existence to be purposeful and full of thought. Our minds are the greatest gift that creator has given us. Not to use them in a good, just and honest way is an insult to the creator. I hope I can meet new friends who are willing to make the time to take the slower, more deliberate path with me.
